The Lightning Thief

The Lighting Thief, written by Rick Riordan, is 375 pages. Percy Jackson is just a normal 12 year-old kid until one day his 6th grade math teacher turned into a monster and attacked him. A few weeks later Percy found out he was a half-blood, child of a god and human, and that he was a son of the great god Poseidon. He is sent on a quest to return Zeus's master bolt or else a war would break out. He traveled to the underworld finding out that Ares was the one that stole it and fought him to return it to Zeus on Mount Olympus. Percy saved everyone, and learned a lot about himself. Percy is a clever child.
Percy is a clever child. When he was caught in a sticky situation he always found a way to get out of it. He is also a quick thinker. He can come up with plans off the top of his head that could save his life. He saved Annabeth from a pit of biting spiders that could have killed them by coming up with a simple plan. He flooded the place to wash them out! Every time there was trouble Percy was there to get the team out of it. He saved the world from a deadly war. I highly recommend this book to people that enjoy adventure and Greek mythology. It is a fun and exciting book, and when I got to the end I wanted the next one. :)
