"Children of the Lamp"

“Children of the Lamp” is a great book by P. B. Kerr and it is 355 pages long. The theme of this story is that everything is not what it always seems to be. (Literally and ) The story starts by two kids going to visit their Uncle in London because they had a dream that they shared and in the dream he told them to come and visit him. When they get there their Uncle tells them they are djinn or genies. They go on a lot of adventures and some of them are very dangerous… “Children of the Lamp” is a great book for kids that like magic and adventure.

The theme of this story is that everything isn’t always what it seems. For instance, when the kids first learn that they are djinns they think it’s really cool and fun. But as the story unrolls, they figure out it isn’t just a lot fun, it is also dangerous and can change peoples’ lives forever. A different example is when the kids and their uncle went to talk to a treasure hunter he seemed fine, but really he was being blackmailed and was trying to set a trap. One last example is when this lady was wearing a headband she being controlled by it and really it was an evil djinn in the shape of the headband. “Children of the Lamp” is a great book and I highly recommend it.
