Gossamer by Lois Lowry is an 140-page novel about a dream-giver named Littlest One who is assigned to a house, in order to give dreams to its residents, along with her old and new teachers. The residents of this house are an elderly woman, her dog, and a young boy with anger issues whom she is taking care of until his mother gets settled in with her new life. The sinisteeds, nightmare givers, end up concentrating themselves on weakening the young boy's soul, and Littlest One and her new teacher have to save him before its too late. Littlest One is very curious and cheery.
Littlest One is quite the curious and playful dream-giver. She is always asking questions, such as, "Are we a kind of dog?" and, "Why is your shadow darker than mine?". She always asks many questions, often interrupting her teachers. Littlest One also enjoys spinning so she can see her shadow mimic her, or creating tongue-twisters out of her old teacher's important instructions. Littlest One is a very playful and questioning dream-giver.
