The Sea of Monsters

The Sea of Monsters, written by Rick Riordan, is 279 pages. Percy is returning to Camp Half-Blood when he finds out that Thalia's tree has been poisoned. He suggests a quest, but the new director gives it to Clarisse. Annabeth, Percy, and his new little brother Tyson sneak out of camp and go on the quest and end up returning successful. They helped Clarisse to save the camp, but after having the Golden Fleece on Thalia's tree to long she turns back into her old self, a person not a tree.


There is a small conflict between Tyson and Percy throughout the book. In the beginning Tyson is Percy's best friend. That is until Poseidon claims him as his son. Tyson is a Cyclops and, after he became Percy's brother everyone at camp makes fun of him. Percy denies that he is his brother until he thinks that Tyson is dead. When he found out he wasn't dead he immediately told everyone that Tyson was his little brother. A good thing for the both of them. :-)
